As the sun breached the horizon, Lilith gave birth to her third son. She named him Tahash.
Lilith uneasily noticed that Tahash's skins was much darker than Adam's. She had not been wise in her last coupling. Tongues would wag and Adam would bear the shame. For Adam's ways were different from Lilith's. He did not couple with the Others.
When Adam awoke, he realized that he wasn't a young man anymore. The years were slipping by. He went to look at Tahash and stared at the baby for a long moment before walking away.
Jair was turning into a friendly little boy. He loved to talk to everyone.
Like Jair, Tahash was a fussy baby too. Perhaps it was because they only had one parent doting on them, whereas Adam had the attention of two.
Jair helped Lilith dig as she needed to stay close to camp with Tahash.

In the dark hours, Genesis aged up to a Teen. Like his father he aspired to be a Freelance Botanist. His new trait, Bookworm.
Morning ablutions were the worst for cave men and women.
Over breakfast, Genesis asked his father if they could dig in the cave for the running water.
Adam agreed and they began the hard work of moving stones and digging up the earth. To Adam's great surprise a small underground cavern was revealed. A cavern with a small water fall.
The First Family could now get completely clean (two at a time if necessary - Adam made and sold a second tub) in a shorter amount of time in the fresh flowing water. Lilith was very pleased.
Unlike Adam, Genesis wasn't opposed to helping Lilith out with soiled swaddling clothes. Lilith was grateful for the assistence.
When Jair wasn't fishing, he was making new friends. It didn't matter if they were his age or not. He was a charmer.
As grateful as Lilith was for cleansing waters, she was hoping that using the nasty bushes would be a thing of the past soon. She had heard that some of the Others found ways to build a box for toileting.
Genesis was growing more aware of the opposite sex and found it difficult to concentrate on fishing sometimes.
Jair occasionally brought one of his new friends to the camp to meet the family.

Adam's garden was flourishing. He learned more everyday. Lilith pushed him to plant more crops, envisioning an abundance of food to sell, but Adam balked at that. He was weary enough, he grumbled.
Lilith complained to Genesis that his father lacked ambition. Genesis soothed her by saying he would help catch fish, so that Adam might reconsider.
Meanwhile Jair was still in pursuit of befriending all of the Others.
Lilith tried her hand at creating images again. Perhaps when she grew too old to dig, she might spend more time with this venture.
Lilith remembered her mother's salutations to Father Sun, Mother Moon, the stars in the sky and the natural world around her. It always granted Lilith's mother a calmness and serenity that now eluded Lilith. She hoped that practicing these movements might connect her body and spirit with a tranquility that transcended her struggles.
Lilith decided that Adam like to fish because he spent less time at camp.
That evening, Lilith started a fire on her own to cook a fish after everyone had went into their tents. She was proud of herself.
Shortly after first light, Tahash outgrew his swaddling clothes. He was an Active boy with aspirations to be a Social Butterfly.
Adam heard running water through a large cave entrance as he searched for more fishing spots. He went to investigate.
After a confusing trail he discovered an amazing wonder: a large grotto with a number of fishing pools.
He immediately set about trying his hand at catching fish in this enchanted spot.
Shortly after Adam returned, Lilith decided it was time to visit the cliffs again. Tahash was a boy now and Lilith needed to seek another man's seed to give her a babe in the womb. She asked Genesis to watch his brothers as she was not certain Adam would.
The cliffs were becoming more crowded each time Lilith visited.
There was only one male there on this occasion. Lilith set her sights on luring him in.
Perhaps he was one of those odd males that wished to mate with only one, like Adam. Perhaps Lilith wasn't as young as the other females there. But this male was not interested in Lilith's mating dance.
Lilith arrived home exhausted and rejected.
But the next day when Adam was away fishing...
a familiar face passed by the camp. Lilith lured Joaquin in for another coupling in hopes that his seed would find fertile ground this time around.
