This is how I see it: In the Prehistoric Era, food must be gathered or caught. So in the subsequent eras: food must be grown, gathered, caught or purchased in markets or stores. No buying food through appliances allowed until the Modern Era (home delivery grocery shopping!). I will not permit "free" foods through the fridge or cooler. Also if a sim cooks for 8, rather than 4 = double the ingredients. I'm going to most likely use this mod - http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=569516
Bold items are Cloudseeker's rules. The rest are self inflicted ;) Note: I am leaving out a few recipes (ambrosia, etc.) that might affect game play.
