Lilith Steps Out

Lilith adored Genesis even though motherhood was exhausting. But he was a good baby and didn't fuss too much. That was a good thing as Adam would interact with Genesis daily but did not take part in his care. Without other female family members in the household, all of the caregiving fell on Lilith's shoulders.

Their days fell into a rhythm of obtaining food, eating the food obtained, and trying to better their lot in life. It was rather mundane, but necessary. The easy life that Lilith longed for seemed impossible to achieve.

Lilith hated the the desperation of being one fish away from being hungry. She also hated the filthiness and sand.

Adam complained that he was lonely and wanted to talk.

Lilith suggested that Adam go and meet some of the Others. He should form a group to fish and garden with. Lilith was thinking only of the benefits for herself. In order to achieve any greatness from this harsh land would take help.

Then she went to take a nap, while Adam left the camp to do as she requested.

Lilith only napped because Genesis awakened her at night. She was working as hard as Adam.

Lilith found another frog and was now keen to breed frogs. The Others would buy them. It was not as lucrative as fishing, but it would help.

Lilith was trying to be positive but it wasn't easy.

In the dark of the night, Genesis outgrew his swaddling clothes and went to sleep in the tent with his father.

He had grown to a gloomy child, yet he longed to be a social butterfly.

Genesis was the first to rise.

He woke up his father and complained of his empty belly.

But they were out of fish. Adam gave Genesis some carrots to alleviate the hunger pains. Genesis wasn't very impressed.

Adam gardened while Genesis played with sticks.

After Adam gardened, he took his son to the waters to learn to fish.

As usual, Lilith woke up cranky, smelly and hungry.

Lilith ate blackberries and swam until the men returned with fish to eat.

Genesis caught his first fish! He was proud to have provided his own meal.

Lilith went out to dig while Adam worked on crafting more items to sell. One of the young Others came by the camp. Genesis was happy to make a friend.

Lilith ran into one of the Others than she considered a potential father for her future born. Her mother had told her that diversity in the bloodlines was best.

In a short time a number of others had walked up. How's a girl to choose?

By the time the sun had set, Lilith had made her choice.

Genesis was back at camp with his father, being attended to, while Lilith made her move.

Lilith would not insult Adam by bringing another man to the tents her husband had fashioned with his own hands. Instead she to took Paolo to the cliffs.

There they found a clean, "unfertilized" bush.

Lilith was exhausted but pleased by the time she made her way back to camp.

Note: Lilith achieved a gold medal on her date with Paolo. 1/10 of gold medal dates now completed.
